About
Sean graduated Trinity College in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Physiotherapy, and is formerly a student of Belvedere College. Before entering private practice, he worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in the public health system and for ProHealth Sports Physiotherapy Clinic on Drogheda.
Flynn Medical Exercise Clinic was established in 2015 with the aim of becoming a centre of excellence in the emerging field of medical exercise - supervised regular exercise to prevent and treat medical conditions. Sean regularly sees large numbers of patients for medical exercise to manage conditions including Motor Neuron Disease, Stroke, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Obesity, Diabetes Type 2, Osteoarthritis and Cardiovascular fitness. Sean also has significant experience leading patients through rehabilitation following Hip, Knee, Ankle and Lower Back Surgery.
His intuitive skills in the area of therapeutic massage is what first pointed Sean in the direction of becoming a physiotherapist. He is extremely skilled and experienced in various forms of manual therapy including massage, friction, passive movements, joint mobilisations and stretching. Sean’s calm, reassuring manner puts patients at ease which further aids the treatment process.
Sean is the club physiotherapist for Stars of Erin GAA club and regularly sees patients suffering with sports injuries in Golf, GAA Football, Hurling, Cycling, Running, Swimming, Gymnastics, Athletics and Tag Rugby. Sean himself has been a long distance runner for years, as well as an avid Tag Rugby player.
Sean also has a personal interest and clinical experience in carrying out hydrotherapy for adults and children with physical disabilities. Hydrotherapy is an excellent therapy for persons who are wheelchair bound or who suffer with muscle contractures and spinal curvatures (i.e. Scoliosis).
